Atty Draper (nee Lennox), M.A. M.A. is a psychotherapist, coach and meditation teacher who is passionate about the emotional and psychological health, and empowerment of young people. She has been in private practice for over ten years in the UK working with teens, young adults, and their parents. Before this, she practised psychotherapy in high schools and primary schools in the East Bay of San Francisco and London.
Alexandra trained in Integral Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies, in San Francisco, a cutting-edge institution that offers an integrated outlook to psychological practice: bringing together clinical, behavioural, somatic and spiritual psychology. Atty is trained in trauma therapy, child therapy, human development, psychopathology, mindfulness-based CBT, family systems, family therapy, integral psychology, among others.
Alexandra completed a Masters in Women’s Spiritualty at The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology prior to her clinical master's in psychology. She also spent 3 years living and working at the Esalen Institute, a leading institution at the forefront of the human potential movement where she studied many healing arts. After completing her clinical masters in counselling psychology in San Francisco, Alexandra completed a Level 4 post masters programme with Place 2Be: a non profit that provides free therapy services for kids in many UK schools. In 2019, she finished the IFC Accredited Barefoot Coaching Programme. Alexandra has completed numerous training programmes over the years at the Tavistock clinic in London, a renowned leader in pioneering theories and treatment of emotional and psychological health. She has trained to advanced levels in Gestalt, Psychosynthesis, and EMDR. She completed a two year long Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training with world renowned clinical psychologists and meditation teachers Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. Alexandra is always studying to discover “what works.” She is currently training in Internal Family Systems, a trauma informed treatment for Anxiety, Depression, PTSD and substance abuse. Alexandra’s areas of special interest is adolescence and early adulthood, healing attachment, the therapeutic relationship, trauma, Buddhist psychology, Women’s spirituality.
She utilises her diverse training in counselling and psychology to provide a safe, supportive space both within her private practice and in the programmes and workshops she facilitates.
Atty is a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists and upholds the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists code of ethics.
